Fisherman's Studio
Sleeps 2
1 Bedroom
Dog Friendly
Ideal for couples looking for a long or short stay, a one bedroom former fisherman’s studio which is pet friendly with garden and courtyard, in the beautiful Cornish fishing village of Cadgwith. The cabin has a living/dining area with a woodburner. A two minute stroll to the beach and pub, cafe and shops.
The studio is tucked away in the heart of Cadgwith Cove, a two minute stroll to the beach and great pub. The studio has been used by generations of fishermen in the cove, most recently by local fisherman and artist Nigel Legge for painting and making withy pots. The studio featured in Monty Halls’ ‘The Fisherman’s Apprentice’. It has been lovingly renovated using reclaimed materials and its charm lies in the evidence of its former uses – withy crab pots, paint on the floorboards and historic nauticalia combine with comfortable furniture and a well equipped kitchen. The cabin is warmed by central heating and a cosy woodburning stove.
The studio has a parking space and a garden leading from the bedroom. There is wifi but very limited mobile signal in the cove. The front courtyard has a table and chairs and is a lovely space to enjoy a book and a pasty. The coastal walks starting from the village are spectacular, you may find you don’t need to use your car at all.

The finer details
If you are travelling by road from anywhere outside of Devon and heading to the west of Cornwall, the most direct route is likely to include the M5 and then the A30.
Directions From Helston:
From Helston, head south on the A3083 following the signs for the Lizard.
Follow the A3083 for approximately 9 miles passing the Mullion turning and the Lizard Cider Barn on your right. Just after this there is a left turn to Ruan Minor, Cadgwith and Kennack Sands. Take this road which takes you through the village of Ruan Minor and down the hill to Cadgwith (the road is narrow with few passing spaces). As you come into the village there are thatched cottages either side of the road, The Cot is the second cottage on the left.
Location details will be forwarded with the booking confirmation.
“Epic views over the village!”
“We stayed here for the 2nd part of our honeymoon and were so pleased with our choice. Clean, comfortable and cosy. The attention to detail in the cottage was great, exactly what you’d hope for. The village is lovely, all the locals are very friendly and helpful. Old Cellars restaurant was amazing, we ate there pretty much every night. The local pub is good for drinks and evening entertainment. There is a local taxi driver who we used a few times to head off to Porthleven and Coverack, def recommend contacting him-details in the guest book. Overall a wonderful stay, the garden at the top has epic views over the village, couldn’t have asked for anything better.”

We have fallen in love with The Cot and Cadgwith’s charm with its unspoilt, picture postcard higgledy, piggledy cottages and lanes to the rugged coastline, stunning views and cliff top walks. We don’t want to leave…”

“Cadgwith is truly unique!”
“Had a wonderful 4 days at the Cot for New Year. Really enjoyed the cosy, well equipped cottage, lovely walks along the coastal path from the front door and the hospitality, great food and friendliness of the locals and other visitors at the pub, just 20 yards down the road. Cadgwith is truly unique being a beautiful Cornish village which is still real, with a strong local working community.”
